UPDATE ONLY (60-second read, I promise!):
Refresher … I was scanned at the end of round 2 chemo (end of December) and as you may recall, the tumors had not shrunk. I’m in the middle of my 4th round of chemo now, and I’m back in for scans, etc. this week:
- Tomorrow: CT/PET scan (to see if tumors are responding – by responding, we mean getting their butts kicked)
- Wednesday: Echocardiogram (to see if chemo’s jacking up my heart)
Once I get scan results, here’s the deal:
- If the tumors ARE responding, they will hit me with two more rounds of this chemo cocktail I’ve been on (which is increasingly “not fun,” but is obviously the best case scenario)
- If the tumors are NOT responding, we will do one of the following: a different type of chemo, a clinical trial, or an experimental drug – anyway, we’ll figure out the next step if and as needed
- 3/8: my next chemo start date if what I’m on is working or if we decide to switch to a different kind
And finally, early happy anniversary to the love of my life (Friday’s 21 years!). No way I’m even going to try to articulate …
Peace and love to all, and THANKS for all your continued prayers and support – means the world to us!!!
