All update post again (too low on gas to even get in wisecracks this time – wait, isn’t that kind of a wisecrack?):
This really is turning into an adventure race – made more complicated by the virus. Lung biopsy now lined up for Thursday in NYC (MSK). Blessed to get it done fast and by the best, but … found out today I gotta drive to NJ location tomorrow just to get bloodwork and Covid test. Nice 8-hour roundtrip! Then C and I will drive up to NYC together on Wednesday. Needle in the ribs Thursday morning. If all goes well, I’ll be back in hotel Thursday night and hopefully driving home Friday (Saturday if I’m not 100% on Friday). But also found out today complications are a little more common than I thought – if things don’t go well on Thursday (aka, punctured lung), I’ll be staying in the hospital a day or two, which will make things tricky for Christie (hotel move) and kids at home (see below).
Georgetown “team meeting” which was lined up for Wednesday will get pushed to next week.
No word on MSK’s analysis of chest tumor biopsy sample yet.
Not the smoothest plans (driving back and forth, etc.) but we are truly navigating in the dark trying to piece this thing together at the moment.
Briton, Mackie, and Aedan are gonna be running the show with Tegan while we’re gone … so please keep them in your prayers! I know they got it, just hate to put it on them …
