Always a risky move posting in the middle of a chemo session but I know I owe an update …
Heart echo was fine – bloodwork was great again – unfortunately, CT scan doesn’t show much change – maybe tiny shrinkage in chest tumors but no real change in lungs – doc said not to be discouraged – they’re comparing to original scan on Oct 3rd so tumors could have grown in the 7 weeks between the original scan and when I started chemo and in that case chemo has shrunk them back down – or it may be that it’s a slow growing cancer therefore the response of chemo will be slow (most chemo works by killing fast growing cells) – or it could be that the chemo’s just not going to work – so there you have it – will do this round and one more, then reassess – not the worst news (at least things haven’t progressed) but kind of tough to swallow considering I had to go straight into chemo after the appt – I mean, we can take it, but it’d be easier if we knew it was helping right?! Anyway, we’ll keep the faith – love and thx again to all for the prayers and support!
